ABOUT KLINGER
Klinger were formed in a freak genetic experiment involving four vibrant young teens, an unfashionable suburb and a shit-load of telly. Since their formation in the heady days of early 1996 the four have refined their power-pop sound culminating in the debut EP '...I Like Your Spirit, Kid.'

Named after their patron saint Corporal Max Klinger, the only cross-dressing Lebanese soldier on television, the boys share his anarchic attitude and ironic wit. Described by the Punter's Form Guide as "Noisy Quirky indie guitar-pop," but summed up in fewer words by Heathy's bullying older brother as "geek punk-pop," they aim simply to rock your roll.

The EP "...I Like Your Spirit, Kid" perfectly encapsulates their rollicking fuzz-driven pop sound containing such clap-along favorites as 'Lemon Pez,' 'Doctor K.' and 'Ace Girl.' '...I Like Your Spirit, Kid' also captures Klinger's more introspective moments with 'Hot Wheels' and their hard rocking roots with 'Stomach Turns.'

Their sound is simple; great melodies, big choruses and loads of guitars. Sort of like Neil Finn using a Big Muff.

Their ship truly came in late last year when they won Triple J Radio's Everclear competition and played to a gathering crowd at The Palace with heroes Everclear and Screamfeeder. Everclear frontman, Art instilled this advice in his new progeny: 'Don't rhyme hello with Elvis Costello.' The boys didn't listen, but have their tune Like Brandon Does appearing on the B-side of the current (Australian) Everclear single; You Make Me Feel Like A Whore.
